ONE OF MY GREATEST JOYS in this business
is getting to collaborate with all my smart, gifted and personable peers. I guess some of them must like working with me too, because I've been fortunate enough to receive some awfully kind recommendations from them. (Blush.)
I am humbled by these gracious expressions, but inspired too. So inspired that I challenged myself to design some of them individually.
If you are fortunate enough to work with or for Rex Gee,
here's what you can expect: Open-mindedness from the get-go. Creative thinking that will blast away any doodle you might have scratched out on your own. Expert command of all skill sets needed to transform an idea into a real-life, award-winning piece of communication. Inventive broadcast imagineering. Exquisite print. Patient mentorship. Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving. Well-prepared and rehearsed presentations to all stakeholders. And the greatest gift of all – a genuinely kind, funny and responsible person who stands behind his work – and the people he works with. What's not to love?
SUZIE "Z" JENNINGS
Senior Vice President / Creative Director at The Company of Others
In my time spent at FKM, I was very lucky to be able to work with Rex
on various clients and projects. It was my first job out of college, and his guidance was pivotal in my very early career development. He was patient and encouraging, he helped me understand the merits of good, conceptual thinking, and he was able to coax work out of me that I didn’t even know I was capable of doing. He’s a great senior Art Director, mentor, and an even better person. I feel very fortunate to have him in my list of influencers.
Colin Mumbach
Designer and Art Director
I was introduced to Rex through FKM Agency,
now The Company of Others, in early 2010. From day one, I was impressed with the way he brought me into his creative vision for the project. Then further leaving the door open for real collaboration, allowing us to bring his vision to life. The thoughtful consideration of our input, and fidelity to his client made for the best of possible outcomes. This selflessness is often missing in our industry, but not in Texas, and not with Rex. It was a pleasure to work with him at TCoO, and I am excited to see what he can do now and in the future.
